Ok so i have only done 1 360 before this one, every one said i had rushed it and the paint was not very good, so a couple 360s later im doing a new mod!
I really have no idea about whats up next except water cooling it..
Im waiting on the new water block i need:
The water cooling set up will not be internal , ill try and fit as much in side as possible or i will just make my own case for every thing!..
I chose the yellow and white color, because i love the white on the 360 and haven't seen any yellow and white xboxs and i think the color combo is unique and stuff..
So what i have done soo far:
Painted Case White (diff white)
And painted dvd (http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=602193#) drive , sides and hard drive (http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=602193#) a nice bright yellow)
I also put a nice simple square cut for my first *no help from daddy window*
I also did the paint all by myself also,
Let me know what you think of it..
Also i will try and post as many updates as possible, please let me know if the photos (http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=602193#) are CRAP, cuz then ill go out and buy some batteries for my digital camera (http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=602193#)...
Also if you dont like it then so be it, this is the best i can do with the resources i have at 13, i did this mod all my self, sanding, painting, cutting and water cooling it, so i take pride in this, but be honest, but dont go saying stupid, ****, as every one knows the case before this one (the really old one with the black paint) was not very good but i took my time and double checked everything and spent like 2hrs on the cut...
ENJOY!

Your mod has caught my interest filthy. I cant wait to see this fully running with the water cooling. This is definately an improvement over your last project. I like how you are taking your time with this one. You really seemed to rush your first one.

Tip the pump on its side while its pumping. That will get rid of the bubbles.

Thanks....
Well know i dont know what to do. i got the caseing for the water cooling parts and since the pump is HUGE the case is bigger the 360 in height.
And im not really digging that....
And to buy a new pump , a smaller one its like 60$
Lethal
05-12-2007, 02:20 PM
Well you definately want the pump to fit in the case. I suggest you put that pump on Ebay and get a smaller one. I am thinking about doing a watercooled 360 as well. I am looking for a copper radiator right now. With the heat this system produces I think the copper will definately cool the liquid faster.

Yeaa thats what i heard of, getting a copper rad, but for my first try i used an allumminem because thats the only one i could see that would be small enough for it..

Ok so i just mounted up the gpu block and routed the tubing, the thing is i bought another pump, I was wondering if i put coolant in my system now how would it work out when i change the pump?
Would i have to flush the hole system of its coolant?
Or what? Cuz i could get this hole system up and running tonight (to test it) but then when i get my pump i would have to rewire the tubing and re route it,
so i then would i have to drain the system of its coolant?
Or could i just put a little coolant (not fill the system up) and then leak test with the pump and everything i have?
And then when my pump comes i can just re do the tubing? or would the tubing leak out coolant when i pull of the tubing from the rad, res, and the pump?
Please help i could get this thing working tonight if my questions are anwsered..

Its probably best to drain everything when changing the pump. You should be using non-conductive coolant so getting a little on the board or whatnot shouldnt hurt. Just make sure you clean it all up.

Would i just drain the coolant from the res, it self right?
Also by putting like half filled res would not hurt the cooling kit right?
Like i dont want to waste the hole contaner of this coolant
n yes its non conductive..

Um i have a little problem, my water cooled 360 freezes and gets the over heating error..After about 5 minutes or so into gears of war, but when i play forza it does not freeze for a hole race and then some..
What could be the problem?

Heat is your problem. Are your blocks fastened completely to the chips? Did you apply the right amount of AS5? Is the radiator cooling the liquid enough before the cycle?

Is there a way to find out if the blocks are completely fastened to the chips? and i applyied AS5 right? without ripping the blocks off?

I didnt understand what you said. You applied Arctic Silver 5 to both the cpu and gpu right? Also you dont want to overtighten the blocks to the chip because you can crack them. And you dont want to undertighten them because then they wont get the proper cooling. Show me a picture of your box running with the top case off.

I meant is there anyway to tell if the thermal past is not applied right? without taking the blocks off again? i snuged the blocks up not tightend them..
here hope there good enough?

The problem could be that the liquid transfering from the gpu to the cpu is too warm and isnt cooling the cpu enough. Or vice versa. I never liked the idea of sharing liquid for both chips. I always used to separate pumps for my PC with 2 radiators just for this reason.

well f-ck this is the last of my problems..
Ok so i turned on my console and all of a sudden it just shut off i thought it was just over heating but i went in closer and i smelled like a burnt smell..
So i check the pump and tubing, nothing..
So i turned it on again keeping an eye on everything and the psu plug wher eit plugs into the mobo started smoking, so i took the mobo out and its like all dark and crispy near the psu plug UH -OH

There was some resude (from the spark) on the mother board that was making points connect, so i need to scrap point of the mother board to get to a part of the mother board that did not suffer from the spark and apply some rubbing alchohal..

Dont get disscouraged grasshopper. The only way to become a good modder is by making mistakes. This wont be your last one. The best part is that you fixed the 360. So buy another pump. Its alot cheaper than buying the 360 again......

Put it back to stock and see if it still crashes. That should be your first step. Then if it works correctly you want to put one waterblock on the board. Either the CPU or the GPU then test it for an hour. Then put the other waterblock on and if it crashes then you found your problem.
