Well when I build PCs I just make sure everything is unplugged and I rub my hands on the outside of the case. This removes any static electricty from my hands.

lol I have built many PCs and I never had a problem picking up more lol. If you are so paranoid put on a pair of doctors gloves.

Just touch something metal, make sure you're always on a flat surface, NOT CARPET. Always be touching the metal oart of the case. You can always pick up anti-static bracelets. You can find them at most computer stores.

you can buy a grounding strap. it straps to your wrist and the other piece on the PC, or the xbox and it prevents static
Radio shack has them for like $5

You don't need rubber gloves. Just make sure you're always touching metal with your feet on the ground.

I have one og those wrist things, but i put toher my pc on a table that was on carpet lol, i kno it was stuoid but that was where the smoothest table was. But my feet were on the tiled hallway. haha. Just make sure youre not wearing anysocks while you do it and refrain from carpet. carpet= bad

If i get a anitstatic wrist strap do i have to worry about being on carpet or anything ?DON'T DO IT ON CARPET. That's just taking uneccessary risks, even with a bracelet.

you dont have to worry about static whith a wrist strap, even on carpet, if your paranoid you can take a shower firstm and do it in your kitchen (if you have tile or wooden floors) or somewhere with no carpet, if your even more paranoid you can be naked and clean shaven as well, with one foot in a bucket of water. and the other on a Steel I-Beam

no ok with wrist strap will i be ok if i did it in my dinning room.. with wood floors and wood table and i would lay newspaper down so i dont ruin my mom table..But the only thing is the chair is like fabric does that matter ?
My mom has viynal chairs should i use one of those?

1. Don't use carpet.
2 Always tough the metal part of the 360.
3. That's it.

Static would be worse with plastic seats, not that it will make much off a difference, I doubt a 360 is more fragile than a laptop when it comes to static and ive opened up and repaied a bunch of those without a strap, once you touch metal the charge is pretty much gone. Plus if your just changing the outer shell there shouldnt be any risk, not sure how the 360 is built but usually the mobo is a bit out of reach on systems.

ya you'll be fine, fans should plug right in, altho make sure your replacing them with decent quiet ones, you can save a few bucks but turn your 360 into a buzzing pos.

youre being paranoid. just were the grounding strap and you will be fine. in my high school i opened up several PCs and all i wore was the ground strap and it was fine. I did it standing up, my feet were touching the ground, i wore shoes with rubber on the bottom(i guess it's rubber) and i was on tile if you want the extra details

Same, I have one but the thing is annoying, I use a ESD mat instead, or usually nothing at all. i just touch the frame first.
